For Thanksgiving we didn’t do much this year. My mom’s 65th birthday would have been November 13th and it was a hard month in general for me. I have been missing her a lot and especially around the holidays. Since she always loved the holidays so much, I knew the day would be hard. I also knew that nothing could live up to what I remember without her. Brenda invited us over but instead we just spent the day at home and didn’t make a big deal out of the day. We thought about her and went to visit her grave that weekend, but decided to just have some quality family time.
Speaking of my mom’s grave; we go there usually a couple times a month, usually after church on Sundays. The boys really enjoy it and I have a picture of the first time we went after her funeral.
The boys love going and we always talk about things that they remember and miss about Grandma Lee.
Jon's been so supportive since my mom died and I am so grateful he not only helps me, but he encourages the kids to remember her as well!
